Whenever i leave my computer for longer than an hour i hit windows-L to lock it so no one can use it. When i come back aim and kazaa have both disconnected and i cant get online. I have a cable modem thats always on and this doesnt happen when i dont hit windows-L. To be able to get back online i have to go into the network window, disconnect from the lan, and reconnect. Has this happened to anyone else? I really dont want to stop locking my computer when i leave it for a long period of time, but i hate having everything connected to the internet disconnect when i lock it. I have windows xp pro sp 1, a linksys router, and a linksys nic if any of that matters.

Some thoughts:

Sounds like a Bios/ACPI problem. If I were you, I'd try removing power management settings (disabling) in the bios and seeing if windows detects that you don't want your comp to hibernate. Also, you might look at your hibernation settings to make sure they aren't killing something vital (like harddrives and PCI cards).
