XP Logon Icon gone
XP corp edition.
I got up this morning to check some stuff before leaving. Usually I leave the computer on and my account is logged on. So I Tap the keyboard to get the welcome screen in XP and my login Icon is gone. So I login under my girlfriends account and check the user accounts. My account is still there Hmmm! Logout. Then I try the Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice to bring up the traditional logon box. I try my account and it gives me: “The local policy of this system does not allow you to logon interactively.” I can login as admin, and other accounts fine. Just wondering why mine decided to disappear? Just wondering before I go through the trouble of creating a new account. Searched help and google. I could not find anything useful. Thanks |

While logged in as Admin, make sure your user name is set up as a Computer Administrator and not a Limited account.
Also, in Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy, navigate to Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment -> Deny Logon Locally and make sure your user name/group isn't in there. Then check Logon Locally and make sure your user name/group IS in there. Let us know how it goes... ![]()

It's Back
Seqiro thanks that was the ticket. I removed profile from Deny Locally and added it to Logon Locally. I did some more searchs and people seem to be having the same problem with the server line. The error had something to do with service packs. Thing is I never installed SP1 on my machine, Just curious if that could cause the problem. |
