kicking people in quake 3

ok guys i really need to figure this one out. how in the world do you kick people in q3 (off servers that is, not literally

)
i can kick most people using the callvote command but for some reason i cant kick people with spaces in their names. i've tried everything including "" and _ . can someone please help ????

If you have RCON on the server you can type

/rcon status

/rcon kick #

Where the number is listed next to the name of the person you don't want to be there.
