OK. My k7m mobo. sounds off like a car alarm when i boot the system sometimes. Yes I have read apex and leons review of this motherboard and yes I have the latest 1.08 bios. The beeping seized for a while. In the bios i have the chassis intrusion disabled. Sometimes if I take the side of my case off pop a card in, or other miscellaneous adjustment, pop the case back on and then siren. Soetimes it stops after windows loads, sometimes it doesnt stop. Now, asus says that its because the bios thinks that my cpu fan is not spinning at enough cfm. Dude, i am at a loss on how to fix this issue. And no i am not going to disconnect the speaker like others have. Thats stupid and I will never hear any post beeps ever again. ( although it would fix the beeping ) But if anyone has a sure fix for this issue. hollar out please. specs are k7m (no onboard sound) athlon 500 (running at 500) 256mb (one dimm) 2 ide hd, 300 watt PS, 2 cdroms,(one is a burner), plenty of case fans. dual fan with heatsink on the athlon chip. If someone can tell me how to legitamately fix this, i will send them a free gift. I dunno what. I will rummage through my parts box and find something.HELP!

Go into the BIOS and on the last page (on the exit tab), select Optimal settings. There is a problem with BIOS version 1008 that always sets your case intrusion detect to "on" even if you select reset or disable. When you choose the optimal settings it will set the Chassis intrusion alarm to disable. Unfortunately any changes in the BIOS after you select optimal will set the intrusion alarm back to beeping.

You wanna send me a Tekram scsi card as a free gift?

Fuz- curiously the beeping starts when i open my case and try to boot. Even with it disabled in the bios. Do you own this motherboard? Should I have super bypass enabled? So reset the alarm, then disable it and dont make any more changes in the bios and it shouldnt beep at all right? If I need to make a bios change then it will beep until i reset the disabel and load optimal settings. I think I got it. I will try it. If it works I'll let you know what i have in the "gift bag". I hate the fact that asus has not addressed this issue.-Skyjuice
