I had the same kind of problem when I installed my MS Explorer USB mouse. I just called MS Tech Support and we went through everything and it turned up one file was missing from my WIN setup. I just had to import that file. I don't remember what file it was.
I would just call them up and they could probably walk you through it and find your problem. I was kind of surprised myself that they figured it out. Took about 15 minutes. ~NiceMann |

what usb controller chipset do you have? if it is via (or if you have an amd k6-ii processor), there is an update to win98 se that will solve an timing problems present. however, if this is not the case, i can only suggest to get the latest bios for your motherboard and try reinstalling the usb controllers through device manager.
