Usually if you unplug the device and reboot it will be uninstalled as far as hardware is concerned. As for the software for whatever the device was go to the control panel/add remove programs and get rid of whatever you don't want.

Does anybody know how to uninstall a devie that was installed on a USB port?

The hardware is a NOMAD II player, and I did try that, but it doesn't uninstall, I think that is supposed to be an advantage of this particular player, unfortunately in my case, it is a disadvantage

you might be able to find it in the control panel listed under system, then you could just remove it.
