Don't feel bad man - I did the same thing. Was pulling my hair out until I thought to try the 'quote' button....

Nothing has changed but the name on the button. Remember in the previous vbb version it was a reply button that replied with quote.

Intuitively to me it makes sense if you are quoting someone to have it called quote.

Now changing the current quote gif to this reply gif would be no problem at all. But note the PM quote button is the same as the quote button in threads. That means if the current quote gif was changed to the reply gif people would be asking, "hey where is the quote button in threads?"

So can you reply without quoting? Forwarding just doesn't seem right.... since you usually "forward" a message to someone else.

Yes, just hit quote then delete what shows up. Not the most elegant way to do it but it works.
