DVD Burning question
Hey Everyone,
Just had a quick question regarding DVD burning. I currently use DVD X Copy and am somewhat happy with it.However the only problem I am running into is there are many movies I am copying that I need to use 2 disc's as apposed to the 1 from the original. I was told there is a program out there to burn DVD's in a compressed format so I can only use 1 disc and put more than 4.7 gigs on it. Does anyone know if this is the case and if so what the name of that program is. Thank you in advance for all who read this post and offer any help, it is always appreciated. ![]() |

321 Studios, the makers of DVD X-Copy, were forced by a court ruling in February (I think it was) to stop selling that software- X-Copy, X-Copy Express, and X-Copy Platinum. They did make some after that, but the feature which allowed you to make backups of copyrighted material (even if it is a version you own and the copy is for your own personal use) was removed. I did see the Platinim recently at Overstock- but don't know if it is the original version. Another possible problem even if it is the original- you need to have it activated by 321 Studios to use it- I do not know and would doubt if they are presently activating any older versions. I had the Express version which would compress a movie down to a single disc. With dual layer burners just coming out, there will probably be something come along to copy onto a single dual layer disc. I have not tried DVD shrink, but many have recommended it- plus it is supposed to be free!
