Hey, I have a
AMD ATHLON 2600 XP+ , Biostar M7NCD pro >>Nvidia Nforce 2 motherboard, 1 GB DUal channel Kingston PC 3200 Ram, ATI Radeon 9600 128mb..... My computer wont detect the second Hard with a ATI video card in the Nvidia Nforce 2 motherboard but it will detect the second Hard drive if I use a Nvidia VIdeo card.....There seems like a conflict between ATI card in a Nvidia Nforce2 motherboard.. Is there any fix to it?? Really rediculous that I am stuck with a 60 GB hd..... Ati's Technicial support and Biostar support both told me that they dont know whats the problem.. maybe IRQ issues?
What about installing the HD with the NVIDIA card in, then switching to the ATI? |

I have an Asus A7N8X Dlx mb that uses the Nforce 2 chipset. I run 2 HD off the Primary IDE and 2 optical dirves off the secondary IDE and I have an ATi 9800. Never had any conflict like that and I have changed to HDs a couple times.
There are new nforce drivers that came out yesterday. That may help. Also try changing the jumpers on your HDs. If they're both set to channel select switch it so one is master and one is slave. Changing the cable may work too. It may seem a bit strange, but that has fixed some problems for me in the past. |

I agree, check all the cables.
What ports are we talking about here? AGP? It the BIOS configured correctly to choose the correct ports? |

Hey, It is the AGP port. Its running at 8x. I have put the jumpers on CS >> Computer select. May be changing the jumpers might help. I will post regarding that. Thanks so much guys
