Radeon 9600XT 256mb - Glitches, help..

I just bought this brand spanking new Radeon 9600XT 256mb and I'm having alot of glitches. These are like long, colored spikes or in the form of missing objects.

I've tried the card on Doom3, Mafia and Star Wars Galaxies and they all present the same issue. Even after a format and a fresh install of the 4.7 Catalyst drivers, nothing helps. What else can I do? Help!

Running:
- Athlon 1.3Ghz
- 512 DDR Ram
- Saphire Radeon 9600XT 256mb
- Creative 5.1 Live!
- DirectX 9.0c
- WinXP Pro SP1 Updated

Well, since I just bought it, I guess I could return it from where I bought it and they could swap it for me.

Problem is that they're about 45mins drive from where I live so before I go down there, I want to be sure it really is defective and not some software issue.

Did it replace an NVidea card? If so, there may be some portions of old drivers causing conflicts.

If you are missing textures and suffering color banding, it's a defective card. Especially since a reformat didnt' help.
