Printing Thumbnails

I take a lot of pictures with my digital camera (nearing 2000 in a year and a half) and back them up on CD, but I would also like to print out a Proof Sheet so I can quickly tell what is on each one. Is there any way to print a page of the thumbnails of the pictures in the folder? Right clicking on an individual picture will of course let me print one, but I want to have a bunch of them on one sheet and right clicking on the page with thumbnails does not give me a print option. Any ideas or software suggestions?

If you have Adobe Photoshop, you can go to File -> Automate -> Contact Sheet, select a folder, and it will create one for you. ACDSee can also do this (File -> Print -> Contact Sheet).

Irfanview will do it, plus, it's free...

I tried the free version of Photoshop, but it did not have this feature and did less than the Arcsoft that came with my camers so I uninstalled that. I have not tried the irfanview, but will when I have time. Thank you for the input!

I have been working six days a week lately and have not had any time to work on my pictures, but I did finally get to try the Irfanview and it is exactly what I wanted! I did not expect great detail on the thumbnails of course, but I do sometimes have pictures of the same place at different times and this will help me find just the one I am looking for. I like that it prints the image number below the picture too. It will let me decide how many on a page too. I can just write the dates on the page. Much easier than trying to guess by my description on the CD which one it is without viewing the whole thing to find out it was on another one. Thanks again for the great suggestion! I hope I have enough ink to print out 2000 thumbs!
