I have a one year old external hard drive (Western Digital 120GB) that I store all of my cd's on in MP3. (58Gb of music)
About a week ago the folder that all of the music is in stopped being displayed. But here is the kicker, the music is still there and works with Itunes, and I can type in the second tier folder and it works. ie f:/mymusic/Peter Cetera works fine but f:/mymusic doesn't. I just want to get my info copied onto my new seagate 200gb that I just ordered off the deals page. Any ideas???? Other then trying to remember all of the folder names and copying them individually. |

Slight ammendment...
I can see the my music folder I can open the folder but there are not any files listed. I just tried the command prompt and it says Volume in drive D has no label. Volume Serial Number is 78FF-CC75 Directory of D:\Music 08/27/2004 09:21 PM DIR File not found. (My Time and Date on this machine are correct.) Last edited by DJjeff1080 : 09-03-2004 at 11:42 PM. |

did you by any chance make the folders hidden? try this. open windows explorer. tools -> folder options -> view hidden files and folders make sure "show hidden files and folders" is darkened in. |

Yea I have tried that. I have also tried accessing it through other computers directly and via the network with no luck. I have not tried removing the drive from the enclosure, but I couldn't see why that would change anything.

Have you tried searching the drive for *.*. If that brings up anything, copy the files to a backup and reformat that disk.
