CPU fan problem

Ok, I have a problem with my dell laptop. I have an inspiron 2650 and for some reason my CPU fan has just quit working. I have tried replacing the fan but the new fan also doesn't run. The IT guy from Dell said that it might be the bios so I installed a new version of bios and the fan still doesn't work. Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong? Thanks in advance.

could be the motherboard's molex connector broke down... Try connecting it to another source of power. Also, check your bios setting, make sure the system fan is not set to off (power saving for laptops)

Send a message via MSN to Jeffbx
If it's under warranty, have Dell come out & replace the system board.

Yeah, I was thinking the problem is with the motherboard. That would be bad. I have checked the bios, and it is not set at off. Unfortunately, it's still not under warranty so they'll talk with me but they aren't going to fix it. Thanks. If you guys get any other ideas, keep them coming. =:-)
