Sure - you'll just get black bars on the top & bottom of the screen

off the top of my head you have several options:

1) buy a widescreen monitor (wont necessarily get rid of all the black bars, but much moreso than in 4:3)

2) disable the option for "keep aspect ratio" and when you're in fullscreen mode it will stretch your image to fit the monitor (and subsequently get tall skinny looking people)

3) use pan and scan mode to essentially zoom in to remove the black bars (you lose the leftmost and rightmost parts of the image, like in a dvd reformatted to fit your television and you'll get lower quality because of the digital zoom)

I would suggest just living with the black bars, but if you have to I would use pan and scan because your picture wont get all stretched out but will still lose some quality.

I'm not sure if WMP is capable of this (never really used it to watch a dvd) but I know for a fact the PowerDVD can do this.

Keep the black bars! The movie will be better looking in the original format, and you'll get used to it pretty quickly. By fitting the movie to your screen you'll lose either picture quality or part of the screen, so I say leave it as is!
