IE Favorites Transfer Problem/Question

My desktop pc is my main computer, and my favorites there are my "standard" favorites.

Once a month or so I go on a trip and take my laptop with me. I use the export favorites function in IE to export my desktop pc favorites to a file, which I then transfer to my laptop.

When I use the import favorites function on my laptop, the new favorites do not replace the existing favorites on my laptop....they just get added to the existing favorites. I want to completley replace my laptop favorites with the new ones.

I tried using windows explorer to delete the existing favorites on my laptop first, but I get an error message saying I may not delete the favorites in the folder as it has some required windows items.

Any suggestions?

go into inside the C:\Documents and Settings\username\Favorites\ folder and you will see shortcuts to all of the url's in your favorites select all of them "ctrl+a" or edit select all, then press teh "delete" key

now import your new faforites into ie or you can just copy the C:\Documents and Settings\username\Favorites\

or just copy the "Favorites\ " folder from one pc to the other
