I have a Pioneer DVD drive model 113. i've had that drive for a little over a year now... it's been working great. but i just tried using it today and it no longer works. the drive will still open and close and Windows will still recognize that it's there... it's just when i put in a cd, it won't read the cd. i tried uninstalling the drive and reinstalling it, but it still does the same thing. i opened up my computer to make sure all the wires are secure and they were. the little light that shows the drive is reading the cd doesn't even go on anymore. when i click to read the cd, it just says that nothing is in the drive. I'm dual booting win2000 and win98se. Neither operating systems can read cds with that drive anymore. can someone help me figure out what's wrong with my drive??? thanks a lot for any help you can give :-)

I can't say for sure but if I had to guess I would say its dead. I would check out their website and look for FAQ and tech help but in my opinion it doesnt look good. The main thing that bothers me about it is that you say the light doesn't come on for reading. I can't think of anything that would make a drive stop attempting to read other than the drive dying. Like I said though, check their site (I think its pioneerusa or something like that) maybe they will have some info there for you.
