gigabyte mobo wont detect second ide drives

I have a Gigabyte GA-K8n Pro-SLI mobo. Every once and awhile it wouldnt detect the second IDE channel, but I would restart and it would be perfect. It now just wont detect it. The HD and CDROM work that are hooked up to that channel because when i hook them up to the other IDE channel, they work. I tried flashing the bios. Anyone got any tips for me before I throw this thing out the darn window!! Thanks!

I m having the same problem with a dell desktop and a Asus S-presso system. All of a sudden, I get slapped with Ide drives not detected. Both of the computer need to be soaked in water and hanged alive! Anyway I didnt want to mess with them so I got S-ata hard drive and got a IDE to S-ata to make my dvd writer S-ata too. Does anyone know what is the problem???
