Is my wireless connection shot?
I feel like I'm always in this forum!
![]() Anyway, my Dell 600m laptop has always been in and out of connectivity ever since I've gotten it. It ALWAYS says that it's connected to my network, but I can never get onto the internet. I've tried updating my driver, system restoring, disconnecting/reconnecting, repair, etc. and nothing seems to be working. SOMETIMES, when I'm really connected, if I leave my home and logon somewhere like Panera or somewhere public, it always gets real weird when I come home. My network is nothing complicated whatsoever besides the code I put in to get onto the system, which I'm sure I'm typing right. I also go into the properties of my connection and put in my ip address that's given through cmd -> ipconfig and everything appears connected. Is there anything I'm missing? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help......again. ![]()

Same thing happens to me sometimes. A paroxysmal non-response from my MIMO system. Looks like the DNS signals are messed up or something, as, while connected, it can't find G|A or other sites for, say, 5-10 minutes at a time. Then things work. Can't figure it out. |

Reboot router and modem.
Also, have a look at this: http://forums.gotapex.com/showpost.p...36&postcount=1 The principle's the same - firmware upgrade, hard reset, reg hack.

I dislike whatever software dell uses to run their wireless apps, same stuff happens to me. It will bump the preferred networks down or up whenever it feels like it, so if I connect somewhere else, I'll have to remove that connection and make my home network my preferred network again, even though I have everything set up to force it not to connect to non preferred networks, and only have my home network setup as a preferred network it will still add random peoples connections to the preferred network list and pretty much do whatever it feels like

Try to use Windows wireless setup instead of Dell's.
