What to do with peaches???
I have two peach trees in my yard and they are producing lots of fruits this year. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to do with them. My peaches are sweet but crispy (kind of like an apple). Any recipes out there for crisp peaches?

Had to be done . . .
Movin to the country, Gonna eat a lot of peaches Movin to the country, Gonna eat me a lot of peaches Movin to the country, Gonna eat a lot of peaches Movin to the country, Gonna eat a lot of peaches Peaches come from a can, They were put there by a man In a factory downtown If I had my little way, Id eat peaches every day Sun-soakin bulges in the shade Take a little naps where the roots all twist Squished a rotten peach in my fist And dreamed about you, woman, I poked my finger down inside Make a little room for it to hide Natures candy in my hand or can or a pie Millions of peaches, peaches for me Millions of peaches, peaches for free Look out!

You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, peach-kabobs, peach creole, peach gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple peach, lemon peach, coconut peach, pepper peach, peach soup, peach stew, peach salad, peach and potatoes, peach burger, peach sandwich. That- that's about it. [/Bubba] |

Barbecue it.. (after cutting into 2 or 3 pieces)
Serve with one scoop of icecream, with chocolate syrup, decorated over the peach and ice-cream. Nice wonderful desert.. |

Dehydrate them, very easy to do. Another suggestion, cook them, add sugar, put the mixture in a blender then add rum or skip the sugar and rum and add champagne. Makes a nice drink

A guy from my work has a peach tree and brought in a bunch last Friday. He said I could take some home, and we really enjoyed them. I didn't realize peaches could grow in northern Illinois. I will definitely keep them in mind if/when it comes to replacing the plum or apple trees in my back yard (that really don't yield anything).

They'll grow in northern IL, it's just a lot harder. Usually once the peaches bloom the next frost will kill them all and the risk of frost is a lot higher up there. |

cook the crap out of them with spices and wine... oooh, and if they're firm, they're PERFECT for a galette (thin butter crust with layer of slices of fruit on top, maybe a little sugar if necessary, but that's it!!!)
i like my peaches fuzzy, dark and sloppy (insert innuendo here.) never been impressed with white or firm or fuzzless peaches, or any other dippy gimmick...

peel and pit them-puree them in a blender with a touch of lemon juice, put them in freezer containers in the freezer and use them for the entire year for cooking (in place of oil, butter) for baked goods..use for sauces, gelee, sorbet, jams, jelly, glaze for pork, chicken, etc..freezing sliced peaches only makes them turn brown. If you enjoy them that much-put them up the right way and enjoy them when they are not in season.
