Some people are unbelievable

So last saturday I broke up with my girlfriend which I was with for a pretty long time. She had to work on a project for a class of hers so I decided to drive more than an hour to go to her school as a surprise. I thought she would be there when I arrived but I ended up sitting and studying for an hour. When she came one of the people who worked there and mentioned to her that I was there which was kind of surprising that anyone would even make a point of it, but when she walked in she immediately seemed flustered. She said hi and sat in the row in front of me and started working on her project almost as if I wasn't there. I tried to study but the fact that she was pretty oblivious to my presense got on my nerves, and since I needed internet access I decided to go study in the library. I was studying for the DATs which I ended up taking yesterday and had been for the past couple months. The library closed and I came back to the place she was working and waited about another hour for her to finish up. The day before she said she wanted to go out that night to universal city walk so I figured we'd go get some food or something. We get up and leave the lab she was working in and she turns and tells me that we're not happy in our relationship and that we should part ways. The way she said it was very calm and collected which made it obvious that she had thought it through and honestly I agreed with her on all points.
What really bothered me is the fact that she actually had me waiting around for more than 5 hours before she even thought to say anything. And on top of all that, she knew I had a test coming up that would pretty much determine the course of the rest of my life, and she didn't even stop to think that maybe it might be better timing to hold off just a ****in' week.
The truely sad part of it all is that the reason the relationship broke down is that she didn't trust me when I hadn't lied to her or kept ANYTHING from her from the day I met her. On the other hand she "bent" the truth numerous times that I know of, which even when I would point out she would have trouble admitting to. I think that because she was dishonest with me it made her constantly think that I must be the same way with her. She would constantly question me and accuse me of things, and no matter how much I would explain, she never quite accepted it. Hows that for karma?
Its unbelievable to think that she was with me for so long and she never knew who I was!

I once asked her if she ever loved anyone and even though I knew she had a couple boyfriends in the past she said no and badmouthed every one in some way or another. I have a feeling she'll say the same about me in the not so distant future. I don't think she'll ever understand what she lost since she never knew what she had. In the end I wish her happiness even though I know her pain is due to her own doing contrary to what/who she may blame it on.

PS: Its nice to know that even though all this happened I still kicked ass on my test

Way to follow through on your exam. Sorry to hear that she never gave you her heart. Maybe she just isn't capable of that yet.

Congrats on the test and getting out of a dead end relationship.

I've found that the people who are distrustful are most likely to cheat. Especially those people who "bend" the truth. If they can't tell you truth about small things, they definitely won't be able to tell you the truth about something like infidelity. With some people, it's like the accusations itself give them the green light to cheat or act up.

1st of all congrats on kicking ass on your test, 2nd I'm very sorry to hear about your break up. It seems like she did not know to how love. It seems like she the one that has been doing things she shouldn't have been doing knowing she was in a relationship. They say the people who accuse are ones who are cheating.

I hope you find someone who will treat you right. But for right now Hapoo consentrate on your studies!

Thats what I always thought. And I'm not an untrusting person at all, but she brought that out in me. I hated the fact that I couldn't trust her, but even in all that I never accused her of anything I couldn't prove.

Well, thankfully since my DATs are over with, I don't really have much studying to do. I only have one class and that doesn't take up much time. What I need to do is get all the bad feelings out of my system before I let myself get close to anyone. The worse thing I can do is put undeserved pressure on someone else due to the things that I've been through.

Honestly, the problem was with me. I kept on thinking that I could make her understand and make her open up. I truely loved her and saw so much potential that I kept trying to make her realize the root of her own feelings and actions. Guess I was just naive in my optimism.

I can totally relate to this. I have had the same problem in the past. Just know that as hard as you try you cannot change anyone. Sorry things didn't work out for you Hapoo.

Hapoo - you seem like a nice, respectful, kind, honest, educated young man. Its hard to find a gem like you now~a~days. Chalk it up to a life lesson, learn from it and go on. If you think about it....you came out the winner here. Double winner at that....acing the test and all...way to go!!

Good job on your test. Some people are just they way they are and may not ever change. Glad you found that out sooner rather than later.

Dude, that sucks man. But I'm glad you were able to get through it and do your thing on the DAT. I'm sure it couldn't have been easy.

All in all, it sounds like you're better off without her.

Yeah...been there, done that. Twice, once before a surgery final and once before a licensing exam (kinda.) Funny thing is, despite my thoughts and re-thoughts, I did kick ass on both, so congrats!
