I just want to cry....

It has been a really bad day. To start off with I am sick, even sicker than I have been cause I went out last night with the kids and was out in the cold for 3 hours. So I have almost no voice I can't yell, I can't even pull the I mean business voice, I just squeak. This totally sucks. Well Gabby is just not listening she found if she takes her bathroom stool in the kitchen she can reach the counters and get her pumpkin down, So I have been fighting them on candy all day. She also pushed her brother into the baby gate which is metal, and slamed his head against it. She is being very demanding and bossy which has landed her butt in time out and after 3 time outs we are now spanking. Then to top it off I went to put a load of clothes in the dryer so that my son will have some clean diapers, and I hear a crash from the bed room. I come up stairs to find my bedroom curtains ripped off the wall. The whole curtain rod pulled off the wall. These are the kinda fancy ones that have the brackets the mount with 2 pretty decent size screws and then the rod sit on the end of then. Well somehow they managed to rip both screws out of the wall.

They are both now sitting on teh naughty wall after getting spanked and one is asleep on the naughty wall and the other one better just go to sleep as she is not leaving that wall until her father comes home to deal with her.

Sounds like the day after Halloween, sugar! sugar! sugar! then the inevitable *crash* (asleep against the wall). Hang in there, maybe a good night's sleep will help.

You have to pick your battles or you yell all day. The candy is a no brainer....put it where they can't see or reach it. End of that problem. The pushy shovy stuff is normal sibling crap. Time outs should work. If they don't you might need to be a little meaner. Time out spot should be totally isolated. No tv, radio or interaction with any siblings. The curtain thing is the biggie....spanking and time out plus I would throw in some no tv time. You have to take away things that mean something. If your Gabby doesn't care if she watches tv or not, then you need to take away the one thing that means the most. Only you know what that is ,so act accordingly. Most important BE CONSISTENT. Dont knuckle under to the sure to follow whining. You are the mother so that means you are the mean one. Stay tough. It will pay in the end.

I am no parent so no parenting advice, but I am a loving husband so you get some of that: take a deep breath and know you have a great family and all the little stuff won't matter in, oh, ten years. Don't let the turkeys get you down.

I am normally the tough one, it is just so hard when they laugh at everything you say beasue you squeak. I am even worse today. I am barly squeaking. So today should be a rough day too. I am the one in control, but I can't use my I mean business voice that can command an entire room to listen to me. So because of that they think they can walk all over me. Gabby got in trouble when her dad came home last night, and then she also got in trouble from a good friend of mine who talked to Gabby and then made her say saorry to Mommy, and told her she was being very mean and seemed to really get through to her. Can't wait for her to come over agian tonight. I can bearly talk, I am at a wisper.

This just kills me to not be in control and have 2 little hellians. Still better than my brothers but man these are not my kids. Candy has been moved to the top of the fridge, I am really limited where I can put it as I have a really small house and almost everything is reachable with a stool for Gabby, so that she has full access to the house. Just not a good thing right now.

Heres to hoping today is better. I think I will go start with a talk about expectations with them and see if helps any today. It has worked when we go places so maybe a good talk will work. Here is to hoping.

Sounds like you need to bring out the leather belt and learn how to "snap" it... (Holding both ends in one hand and snapping the loop so it makes a whip like sound...)

I bet THAT would get their attention.

Hell, i just threaten to hit DFJ with the belt and he straightens up... I don't even have to touch him.

I'm sorry to hear that Mommypooh I hope that it gets better for you. I read this really good article the other day that had some good parenting tips for when kids go a little nuts. I'll see if I can dig it up.

*edit* Found it:
