After it broke down a year ago, it's up and running again!
Let's see what this thing costed me: 1 Serviceman who costed $79 who was fired for lack of ordering parts and lying to me. 54 replacement jet heads-$689.00 which I installed. 1-large Allen Wrench-special size $9 1-5 hp motor and pump head unit-$392.95 1-tub of glue special underwater use-$14 1-new serviceman which was $178.00: $100.00 to look and say the circulator pump was bad and $78 to install new pump and shut off valves. 1-1 hp circulator air pump motor -$131.18 2-shut off valves and clamps from Homedepot-$20 now today. 1-new service guy-no.3. $425.00 total. $300 for control head-$125 for service call! He replaced the controller head and gives me info how to use the spas chemicals! He made 1 trip out to find the bad controller head, 2nd trip out to try a controller head he had (wrong model didn't work) and finally a 3rd trip out 2 weeks later to install the new right unit. This unit I could not find cheaper online myself. Well maybe $35 but then I had shipping! The spa is working tonight. Was it all worth it? No way on a 6 year old spa that costed me $5000 new then but I had no idea the spa pumps were bad before this all started. I took the 5 hp unit out and took it apart on my workbench. The pump bearing was toast leaking on the shaft (this the tub did to me gave me a major shaft) to the motor housing. If I have to do it again-its going to be sawzall cut out of the room and trashed. I'm not going to drop $1500.00 into it again. Hell, if it costs more then $100 for the part and service call-it may be gone for good! How do you put a price on one year of the wife BITC^ING?
