I need some help!

My friend is planning a 60th wedding anniverary for her grandparents.

We are trying to figure out what the colors/themes are used for such an anniversary.

And also, I can't find any websites that give information on what important events happened on the day of their anniversary: December 31, 1946.

Hopefully someone has some useful links!
