Question Package shipping question!

I have a LCD TV we just bought today I need to ship to Florida. If you need to ship a item like this what company do you feel is safest to use from these 4? (It will be shipped ground and insured).

UPS
USPS
DHL
FED-X
I dont want to get it there to find out it was

You'll hear good & bad about all of those - as long as it's packed well & insured you should have no problems with any of them.

Also, insure it for replacement value. If you bought it on black friday for $500 less than you could replace it for, then you don't want to just get your money back, you want your product replaced.

None of them are great, but there are differences.

DHL = No, not if you want your TV to work when it gets there.

In order:

UPS / FedEx (take your pick)
USPS
DHL

Hi! I work for UPS. PACK THE **** OUT OF IT. No seriously, I see several broken TV's every day at work. You want to make sure that thing is packed VERY WELL. I've seen TV's kicked, punched, sat on, and walked on. Trust me. Every courier is like this because of the demands on the workers and the knuckle draggers (like myself) they employ. Insure it and pack it well.

Trailers? No way homeboy, I'm a ramper, I drive my tug around and pull cans all day. When I'm not sleeping that is.

Very cool gig. I always thought the airport positions looked like fun. Get cold out there? They let you take flights on the plane?

Considering your TV came all the way from China using shipping methods that suck worse than anything available in this country - I wouldn't worry about who you choose. I guess I'd look at who has the best tracking and least hassle for insurance. That leaves out USPS...

Just be sure to ship it in the original packaging, since that is specifically designed to protect your TV.

Psh. I wish I could jumpseat, but only high level managers can do that. Yeah it gets cold, but since I'm in SoCal that means low 30's or high 20's at the most extreme low points and I have a down jacket mofo.

Even that won't always help you. UPS will fight you on the insurance, saying it wasn't packed properly and then deny your claim. I worked for them for 9 years and saw it happen all the time.
