When can I expect the biggest holiday sales?

I'm looking to buy some clothing for the winter. I was a bit busy so I couldn't get anything at the end of last winter. When do the biggest holiday sales usually start? I'm leaving the country on 12/19 for vacation. Can I expect any sales before that?

Didnt you buy anything on thanksgiving sale ? I thought it was the besttime to buy stuff (most of them on sales)

I didn't manage to go out this thanksgiving.

Are there typically any more sales before christmas?
