i am on a business trip for 9 days and i brought 6 pairs of shoes.

have i caught teh ghey? i brought two pair of dress shoes for my meetings next week. one pair of boots for the harley trip this weekend. sandals, running shoes, and pumas for going out. and that's less than 1/3 of the number of shoes i own.

so...just wondering if that's odd for a dude, gay or otherwise.

for me the max amount of shoes i take on a trip is 4 pairs .
water shoes ,dress shoes ,sandal,and tennis /running shoes

6 pairs of shoes for practical uses is not gay, though it's a bit much for a 9 day trip. Like TofuNinja said, having 6 pairs of shoes because they match your outfit is gay.

Two pair of dress shoes: one black, one brown. Wearing one in place of the other makes you look like your mom still dresses you.
2 pair of sneakers: One for gym use only, the other for street
(I have a leftover pair that gets the yardwork since it frequently gets covered in dog poop.)
1 pair of sandals for public showers.
I don't think that's out of line.

yes . i own 2 pair one i keep in florida and a pair i have here at my michigan home . they really help when you go out and its rocky or there is sea weed in the water . and in florida not all beachs are sand like they make it out to be .

In my closet:

Two pairs hard leather dress shoes for work and dress-up occasions - one black, one brown

One pair of brown or black soft leather shoes for casual wear.

One pair of sneakers/athletic shoes for the gym and recreation (I never wear sneakers as plain old casual wear. Just not my personal style.)

One pair of high end basketball sneakers (Air Jordan's, to be precise), strictly for the basketball court to give me ankle support and knee security.

I wouldn't mind one pair of workboots or some other rugged footwear for out in the snow, hiking, etc. But currently don't own any.

Actually, this isn't entirely true. If I'm wearing shorts, I'll wear the sneakers with white socks cause shorts with leather shoes and socks look really dorky. But I wear shorts out in public maybe 5 or 6 times a year.

i'm definitely ghey. darn deals making me buy stuff that i don't necessarily need... (now). i have 4 pairs of trail running shoes alone (REI .83 + 50% clearance..each one @ ~$30).
