Dear Obby...
I've been very intrigued by your praise of Fels Naptha. I went on a hunt for it yesterday to no avail. I will kep searching, and I did pick up a box of Borax so that when I find it, I can try the detergent recipe you posted. Anyhow, on to my question:
What is the best way to clean shower doors? I've got a glass shower surround that I've tried many a cleaner on, none seem to work. What are your thoughts? One other question I thought would be interesting; if you could only buy five products to be used for household cleaning for the rest of your life, what would they be? I'm guessing the Fels Naptha would be number 1 ![]() |

If you are trying to get off soap scum / water spots I recommend an acid based cleaner like CLR or vinegar.

For cleaning shower doors use FRESH LEMON juice and baking soda made into a paste...rub it in and work it in circles-then rinse..nice and shiny clean..dry with newspaper print (black and white) and then buff with a light coating of turtle wax.
If you can't find Fels Naptha, let me know, I get it here for 88 cents for a HUGE bar..I'd be happy to send it to you. MommyPooh can vouch for the fact that the stuff is GREAT. Not only for stains and laundry but for poison ivy, acne, rashes etc...works wonders It's hard to pick 5 top products because there are so many different materials in homes these days..besides the Fels Naptha I guess I would chose clorox, turtle paste wax, Lavender Sachet fabric softener, and Mule Team Borax. |

Thanks Obby! I'm going to check my local hardware store for the Fels Naptha, that's what people 'round these parts are telling me is my best bet. If I can't get my hands on it, I'll let you know. I'll be trying the lemon juice concoction tonight. That's exactly what I was looking for. I hate all of the store bought, spray bottle cleaners that cost tons of money and don't do the job! |

I have found it here in the laundry soap isle too. Usually on the top shelf and the employees usually have no idea it's there.

Yeah, checked the Laundry Soap Isle at three different places. Then checked the Other cleaner isles, even the personal soap sections, since I read that the stock people don't usually know what it is and thinks it's regular bar soap. I'll stop tonight Obby, and if I don't find it, I'll let you know. Thanks.

I found the Fels Naptha soap on the top shelf in the corner in the laundry aisle. It was usually pushed all the way back so I can't see it but I now know where it is so I can easily find it. It is a bar that is in a cream package with Green and Red Label.
![]() I had to ask on several occasions for it before someone knew what I was talking about. I have also found it is out of stock a lot where I live. Oh and the store I find it at is Kroger. Meijer does not have it where I live.
