It rubs the lotion on its skin ...

I've got some dry patches of skin (elbows, feet, etc., not face) and am thinking about getting some sort of lotion to help. I'm looking for suggestions. My requirements are:

- Little or no scent
- Won't leave my hands oily or slick
- Doesn't cost an arm and a leg
- I would prefer to buy it in pump form (but not required)

I figure I could just buy a thing of neutrogena, but maybe someone has other suggestions.

I hate Neutrogena. They make some of the oiliest creams out there. You'll feel it on you long after it's applied. When my skin gets dry I just go for classic Vaseline Intensive care. I think it matches all you requirements. I'm sure the ladies here will be able to give you better advice though.

Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy with Alpha Hydroxy. It's the best thing out there IMO. Non greasy, non fragrant, non Irritating, it exfoliates as it moisturizes. You'll notice results after one application and a 16 oz. pump bottle is about $12.00 at Rite Aide.

Hope this helps.

I usually recommend eucerin or aveeno lotion to my patients with eczema or just really dry skin and have had pretty good results with it. I use Eucerin Plus myself. It comes in non-flavor, non-scented, non-colored options so it won't irritate sensitive skin people also.

I ended up buying some Eucerin Plus. It has worked well so far, and was reasonably priced, but was a little more oily than I would prefer. I feel like I need to wash my hands before going back to typing. I think if I restrict using it to after my morning shower and right before bed I'll be good to go.

It is also nearly scentless, which is nice, but I do get a faint whiff of something that reminds me of Buffalo Wild Wings, which while not unpleasant, is very odd.

You may want to try Lubriderm sometime. I've been using it for years, and I like it because it's water-based, as opposed to oil-based, so it doesn't leave me feeling greasy (I'm also not a fan of that feeling).

After the surgery to put the titanium plates over my left eye socket, my skin developed this awful dryness to the point of scaling. I was livid, so my Ophthalmologist recommended Eucerin Plus. First application and the scaliness was gone. Skin was returned to normal in about 2-3 days. I've been sold since.

Another vote for Eucerin here. Either that or St. Ives lotion for Extra Dry skin.
