Question What do you pay for a hair cut?

it cost me like $11 - $13 for a cut and a extra $3 for a wash plus tip.

a lot. I get highlights, in addition to the haircut, so that usually costs a TON. To me, it's just like wearing nice clothes for work. I want to portray a fashionable & well groomed professional image.

Gotcha beat. Haven't had a cut since '98.

I should though. I think long hair on men has gone out.

Free - My father in-law is a retired barber and still likes to cut hair. He cuts my sons as well.

I usually don't color mine, I can pay $25 if I go on base but if I go to "my guy" downtown, I will pay $80 - but he cuts my hair with a razor and colors it and is just awsome.

I will miss him. I just found him last year after being here for 7 years!

$30 plus tip, which isn't ridiculous for NYC. That includes two washes, a scalp massage and styling at the end. She's the first stylist I've met that I can trust 100%. I just sit down, we make small talk and 30 minutes later I walk out completely happy. I know that's pricey for a men's cut, but that's the price a pay for complete peace of mind.

i agree, stan. i used to pay $25 back in the day for a stylist as well. that was back in the day in san diego. and not pricey at all for someone i could trust. but that was just a wash and cut. no scalp massage or 2nd wash.

Between 17 and 20 dollars. It depends on how good my conversation was that day, I think. I generally just give the guy 25 bucks and let him keep whatever the tip would be. He does a really good job on what is to me unsalvagable hair.

I used to go to supercuts but they have gone downhill and its getting too expensive $17. I now go to a cool little barbershop for $8 but usually give the guy $15.

$32 + tip. I am looking for a new place in the DC Metro area (pref NoVA) so any recommendations are welcome!

I would ideally pay $30 for razor cutting, $20 for regular, but this is an expensive area.

I have been doing my own for a long time. I'll even throw in a bit of coloring for myself (yes- to hide the gray!)

But I am a lousy tipper and don't usually give myself one. Maybe that is because my barber is too cheap.
