Gifts for Mommy

I have absolutely no clue what to do/get for my mom this year. I've done the typical flowers, dinner, make-up, perfume, purses, jewelry, shoes and trip thing.

Suggestions? Budget would be around $50-$200.

What are you doing for your mom?

Day at the spa? My mom still works so it's nice for her to just be taken care of for a day. Since she took care of us kids for 18 years. and some idiot brothers she still takes care of.

Like most Moms, mine is impossible to shop for. I usually end up sending her money so she can get what she wants. Her birthday is very close to Mother's Day too (within a couple of days). This year I am going with flowers since I have rarely purchased them for her (she can be sensitive to the smells of many of them- one time I sent her some and she returned them to trade for something else). Yellow roses and purple irises this year. She turns 70 this year. Her mother turned 90 last week and this fall will be my parent's 50th wedding anniversary so a lot of milestones this year.

Try not to stress her out much with what's going on in my life. Just make her think that all is well - even if it isn't. Gosh, that came out a little morbid.

if you looking for somthing out of the norm, organize a family photo without mom knowing about beofre she shows up <create an excuse to get her out>, kind a unique idea i am guessing with the way life is nowadays hectic and busy, the right mom would really appreciate something like this

I'll prob take her out sometimes AFTER mothers day (b/c it's crazy ON mother's day)

I've taken her to the Magic Castle before, and she's really enjoyed that. Other than that...nothing too special.

i was thinking about the spa thing, but i'd have to take her because she'd never go by herself. (which means it'd cost more...)

our garden is completely manicured and lovely so no work needs to be done there.

i do hang out with her...when she has time. but she's more of a family person so she usually would want to include others.

we just did a family portrait not too long ago so i think we're up to date on that.

thanks for all of the ideas though!

My mom is getting another concrete lawn goose since she left her other one I got her when she moved. I am also getting an outfit for it so it will be pretty.

My MIL we are getting her a wind thingy that the thing blows and then a little girl waters the flowers adn teh flowers move up and down.

My Grandma is getting a flat of flowers and a pack mule to do the labor of planting them.

I think that covers it all.

You might be the first person to ever get their grandma "ass" for Mother's Day.

I like being creative with photos. It can be cheap, and yet has that nice sentimental touch.

I photoshop'ed one for my parents awhile ago that has my bros and I superimposed in front of our baby pics. It got a lot of rave reviews.

I also dug up a bunch of old slides one year, and had them scanned into a digital format, and printed those out into a collage.

You could also do a painting/drawing, etc.

Though, you don't have very many days left, so I'm guessing most of that is out!

How about just inviting all the family over, and cooking dinner for her?
