fastest way to heal a pulled quad?

didn't have time to stretch for softball tonight. Strained my quad pretty good over the course of the first game. (It was a gradual thing that ended up putting a lefty in at third because he couldn't shag fly balls any more.)

Anyone have any tips for getting this to heal faster? Yes, I know, don't aggravate it.

Keep off of it as much as you can is all I can recommend. Its injured, not much for it to do but heal right now. It heals as fast as it heals.

yup, you stretched it and there's really nothing you can do but wait. heat to relieve some of the pain, and lots of sex for endorphins

Each religion has got their own way of making you feel like a victim. The Christians say 'you are a sinner', and you better just zip up your trousers and give the money to the pope and we'll give you a room up in the hotel in the sky.

This sure isn't coming from a medical doctor, but I wouldn't even stretch it. I was in the process of pulling my groin during the last track season, and it didn't fully heal until I took a solid week off including no stretching.

Leg muscles suck. Can't really avoid using them a little. Rest works best. I think that within the first 48 hours you can ice it, but yeah, just kind of sucks. Also, when you think it feels better, still take it easy for awhile.

nate's not entirely wrong. you don't want to stretch it, certainly, but you also want to avoid favoring(limping) as much as possible, try to use it normally.

i've got very loose joints, so i've sprained my ankles many a time. even when wearing ankle braces. the best advice i've found for a muscle injury is RICE Rest Ice Compression Elevation for about a week. i don't agree to the ice for muscle, swelling yes, but i use heat on muscles. it'll be stiff for a while, but you should be back to 100% within a month at worst
