Did Apple CEO Steve Jobs receive preferential treatment?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...2104559AAZIkKV

Did Jobs taking a liver from someone who would have a far better chance of surviving? And did he cut to the head of the line because he's rich and famous?

I would not be at all surprised if he got preferential treatment - most rich & famous people do. Surprise!

But it's a little misleading to say that he took one from someone who had a better chance - he just bumped everyone on the list down a notch.

It's all private so we really have no way of knowing right?

The hospital that performed the surgery said he had the highest need. Jobs approved the reveal.

For what it's worth, I heard from a good friend of Jobs' in January that Jobs was extremely sick. I think it is much more likely that Apple hid the extent of his illness than that Jobs got preferential treatment.
