Question about periods (Guys, don't read. ;) )

Ladies, what meds (if any) do you take for cramping and bloating?

I'm SOOOO tired of that this month! Normally, the bloating happens before my period, but not this time. blah.

Basically i'm always trying stuff but most of the time ibuprofen works pretty good (well if you take enough of any of the meds it usually works) I'd have to agree with you i'm just about sick of it this month too.

Ingest enough Calsium and Potassium piror to the initial period will reduce muscle contraction and promote sodium digestion from your daily diet. Usually Yogert is a great natural supplement for muscle relaxation. (start taking at least a cup of Yogert, Dannon is good, 5 days before the period will help.)

Oh, I am definitely NOT a female.

Thumbs up Midol!!

Midol works for me and I only need to take one tablet
for that month. Taking a tablet once a month doesn't hurt.
Another way to remedy the problem is drink a little alcohol to
get your blood running in ur system. I think the pain is caused
by blood that is clogged. It works for me so try it out.

I take advil for the cramps, and I stay away from salty foods. Hate that water retention.

I usually take 800mg Motrin and curl up under a bunch of blankets and cry once a month (I have a low tolerance to cold when I'm on "it").

The crunches do help some, too.

I use Motrin for the pain as well, but take smaller doses. I swear, Motrin is the best pain reliever!

I unfortunately get bloated too, and I usually just suffer through it. I try to eat well during my period and stay away from spicy foods. Also, get enough sleep! And stay away from those things we call men, they get extra annoying and I swear it makes my periods worse. Heh.

I get lower back pains as well. And again, I take Motrin for all pain and it works. Very powerful stuff.

I don't use meds.. I just put earplugs in and I don't have to worry about periods.

j/k.. I salute you women on what you have to put up with..
Damn.. pregnancy, men and periods.. that would be way too much for me to handle.

I was feeling really gassy & bloated today (I know, I know, you all wanted to know that...). Anyway, we were about to drive 6 hours (3 there, 3 back) to meet my dad halfway so my son could spend 3 or 4 days with my parents. I was NOT looking forward to the trip.

My hubby went to the store and bought some Gas-X. I took 1 a few minutes before we left and then again during the trip after dinner, and I felt incredible! SOOOOO much better!

Nah, wasn't that bad.

Scott was thankful that all the gas came out the attic and not the basement.
