Post Carolyn Hax: Deceitful pregnancy attempt

Tell Me About It

By Carolyn Hax
Sunday, May 18, 2003; Page M01

Dear Carolyn:

I have a child who is 9 months old and I want another one. I have been with my boyfriend for almost a year (since July). My boyfriend isn't the father of my baby, but I would like to have one of his. I haven't told him when I am ovulating because I figured that would be the best way to get pregnant, but it still hasn't happened. I feel I am being deceitful by not telling him what I am trying to do. He is in college full time and I am part time. Should I tell him?

Confused

Bhngbvg jnhmu! (Banging head twice on keyboard for "yes!")

You are deciding the course of the rest of his life without even asking him first. Unconscionable. He has chosen to have sex with you, granted, and fatherhood is clearly one of the risks. But still.

Even if you choose, inexcusably, not to tell him that you're actively trying to get pregnant, I'm hoping I can. Attention all full-time male collegians who last July began dating part-time fellow students with 9- or 10-month-old babies fathered by other men: If you don't want a kid, wear a condom. And if being deceived isn't your notion of love, then run, run, run.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Oh mah goodness. What a b*tch thing to do. I hope he read this in the paper and kicks her to the curb. And yes he's not innocent either b/c he should be wearing some sort of protection.

This young one has a baby by one guy and now wants another baby by another guy. Smart, real smart. And how are they supporting themselves? No mention of a job...hope they aren't living off the taxpayer. After all being in college != job No mention of getting married either.

Taking the above along with the shadiness is definitely a nice way to build a firm family foundation.

Dear dimbulb: please get sterlized at first chance.
