OK so one of my friends from hs has a sister and I think she's pretty cool. I chatted up a little with her last night at the New Year's Eve party and I kinda fancy her. This friend of mine (the sister) which is a female hangs out with a group of friends who are also my friends because we all went to high school together. I don't consider these people my best friends or anything like that. I like hanging out with them cause they are funny but they are not the kind of friends I call just out of the blue to talk. Also they are all girls. The thing is that I asked one of them out before like a year ago and got shot down. I'm kinda hesistant on moving in on this current girl. I kinda worried that I'll be perceived as this guy who's keep targeting girls in this group. Now should I or shouldn't do something about this? SHould I ask one of the girls in the group who I'm closest with to help me out? Or should I just wait and find opportunities to hang out with her?

Does the sister hangout with the other sister's group of friends a lot? If so, I'd be hesitant. The girl who shot you down might feed bad data to her. If not it seems like a good target. Either way though I'd probably hang out with her a few more times before dating, but not too long, don't want to be just friends I wouldn't ask for help from any of the girls. First of all, it's cowardly and secondly, she might talk to the girl who shot you down.

Not too much. But the girl who shot me down felt really bad about it. I'm still in her good graces. I was real slick when I asked her out. I sent her a dozen peach roses with a note saying something like saw these and thought of you. I'm in good standings with her.

When I said I was thinking asking one of the friends who I am closest with to help I meant to ask her to ask that girl to go skating with us tomorrow.

If you're not that close to that group, then I say go for it. Really not that much to lose, and you stand to gain some whoopy. As for whether to ask the other girl to help you with it... do you think she will be useful. If the answer is yes, then I don't see what the problem is.

I know what you mean JackHammer when worrying about seeming like you're just trying to date all of the girls in the group. My best advice is to get the least amount of these girls involved in your situation.

Try finding an opportune moment to hang out with the sister that you like before you go ask another one of the girls for help, that way you have more privacy. It'll spread like wildfire with the more people that know about it.

Thanks, good advice. But let me ask you this. Should I ask her now or should I wait until later? Also do I get her number from one of the friends or should I not? Furthermore, once I get her number should I call her or just wait a bit?

You want her not one of her friends so ask her for her number. You'll seem more confident by being direct and chicks like that. And don't wait too much longer to try and contact her. Today would be good. When you get the number call her the next day. When you get it say something like "I'll call you tomorrow" Women like to know when you'll call as it makes them feel less like they are hanging by a string and it will prevent you from wimping out.

don't go back and forth and torture yourself.
if you are interested get her number any way you can, call her right up, and ask her out. why hesitate? she is either gonna jump or make an excuse if she is not interested.
