Can you give yourself herpes
I have the type one mouth herpes and I'm wondering, if I touch/pick/etc at a sore and then later that day masturbate if that can transfer it to my penis. To me that doesn't make sence since the virus is in ones blood, not skin.

what a question...but from what I have learned in nutrition/health class is yes it can transfer, provided you have some way in which the virus from the sore in your mouth will penetrate to your blood down there...this would most likely be by means of a cut or something of the sort, so basically, it would be difficult to spread it to yourself like that!

yes, you can get oral herpes from kissing, especially if the sore is "open". as far as oral herpes actually transferring to the genital area the way InfiniteNothing described it, i dunno if it would actually happen like that.
i still get cold sores on my mouth every once in a while if i'm severely fatigued, but i've never in my lifetime had the genital sort.

From what I've read, you can also spread the virus to your eyes, so don't scratch/touch a cold sore and rub your eyes. (I don't want to know what any of the pervs out there were thinking when I said that.)
and to answer the question, yes, you can spread the virus to your other regions.
