Satin or Sateen Sheets?

So what are people's preferences? According to the dicitonary, sateen is just satin-like and made out of cotton. Is there even a difference?

Man, if this doesn't fit in softer side, i don't know what does.

All I know is that my fiance likes sateen and dislikes satin. I guess that's all I really need to know.

Definately Sateen. Hate satin sheets. I will only buy sheets that are 100% cotton. They are nice and cozy.

sateen is a thicker material-usually will hold it's shape on a bed better..and will last longer when washed..regular satin-when washed (in a washer) gets all messed up.

sateen = very nice. soft & comfortable.

satin = very 80's pornish. gets all pilled up when you wash it. reminds me of a prom dress.

Whatever you do, just make sure you don't make the mistake of buying the satan sheets or the stain sheets. Way less comfy than the sateen or satin.

be careful with those overstock sheets. we got a "good deal" on a couple of sets from them and they tore up really fast. i'm sure some are better than others, but unless i know the brand i wouldn't buy from them again.

sateen is better than satin... i have satin pajamas, but satin sheets is slippery nonsense. too much of a good thing!

and jersey cotton is waaaaay softer than sateen.... sateen has a nice dull sheen, which is cool, jersey cotton does not... but they just feel as soft as your favorite t-shirt that's been getting washed for 12 years.... ahhhhh...

and flannel. cheap flannel pills and gets not so soft, but high-quality flannel is saweeeeeeeeet.
