X-mas present for a friend
alright, heres the deal. theres a girl who i've been hanging out with a lot, and we are talking about making things serious. would a dozen roses and a teddy bear be an adequate present?

Very cliche, but it's cliche for a reason.
![]() Personally, I'd go with something that matches her interests, but flowers aren't a bad starter gift if you don't know her that well yet. |

I dunno. Roses are too serious. Flowers is a good thought but I wouldn't go with roses.

Flowers and candy. Roses are cool. Nothing wrong with that. Better than giving them daisies or something.

Order her a build a bear
![]() It sounds like a wonderful idea! Add a keepsake type ornament for a memory. And Ray, there is nothing wrong with Daisies (they are my favorite) |

Sounds too Valentine's Day-ish for me, but hell, what do I know, the ladies seem to think it's a good idea. If you get a teddy bear though, build-a-bear it, those things are so cool!

I just took my mom to her last doctor appointment and had her build a bear for all of the grandkids, with a recorded message from her. We looked silly crying in the middle of the store, but my babies will have something from their Grandma to treasure forever.
I love the idea of giving her a bear! Good luck Yoss!

i'm down with the cliche... not worth much after you guys really know each other, but at the beginning of a relationship, it's a clear message and very exciting

If you know what kind of music she likes.. or better yet, if there's music that you like and you'd like to introduce her to it, make her a CD (cover and all) and give it to her with a single red rose. Present it to her at a nice dinner.
I did this for someone who had a birthday about three weeks after we started seeing each other, and she said it was the coolest gift she'd ever received. The cover art for the CD was really cool-- I found a photo of the place where we met, then used Photoshop to modify the daylights out of it until it looked like an abstract piece of art. When she asked me how I did the cover, it knocked her socks off. ![]() |

sounds like a good gift. you may want to give it to her after an evening out as opposed to just going over to her place and handing her the gift.

Roses are kinda mindless. No thought... all pretty. I've always gotten my SO different kinds of flowers every time. My (our?) favorite thus far were lilies. |

Hey Yoss...here's an idea for you. Ever see those Italian Charm Bracelets? They are the kind that you can add the various links like a stretchy watch band..those are reasonably priced, and you can give her a few links that are important-then keep adding throughout the year..Kohls sells the links for a dollar this time of year-(also have the bracelets)..but must stores like walmart/kmart/Kohls/ and any given jewelry store has them...they originally were called Nomination Bracelets and were only sold at jewelry stores but the market ran with the plain label versions and now you can find them just about anywhere....get her one, and add a link with her initial, and whatever she likes and dislikes..if she's a student you can get her a link with books on it, or if she likes cats -one with cats..see my drift? it's something she could look at and remember you all the time-unlike flowers (which are expensive and die) or a teddy bear (that she can't carry around with her all the time)..you can get cool links on Ebay under the name of Zoppini Italian charms...but seriously-if you have a Kohls in your area-get there-cute links-real cheap. (and PS..if you can buy enough links (say-10 perhaps) then you won't even have to buy the starter bracelet-because you'll just hook the links together...they make nice gifts..

i was under the impression that those charm bracelets were for 12 year old girls, but perhaps they have expanded to other age groups.
