What to do...Ebay buyer disappears ...

So I put my new slim PS2 and games up on ebay about a month ago. Buyer was a pain in the ass, and had to file a non-paying bidder complaint. A few days later, they pay and I email them for their address to ship to. No response. Have done so now 3 times and haven't heard anything.

I don't think it's right to sell it again, but how long do I go before I'm not entitled to do anything anymore? I suppose I could just do nothing and keep the thing, but who knows.

I would email ebay and ask them. You could always sell it again, but in that case it would only be right to refund the originals buyer's money. You could do that if they payed with PayPal.

I would ask eBay what the policy on a "semi-performing" buyer would be. Get them involved right from the start.

What timeframe are we talking about here? If it's a matter of weeks, then I would definitely email your buyer and tell them that if they do not provide a shipping address their payment will be refunded within x number of days.

How did they pay? If it was PayPal, did they specify a shipping address?

For what it's worth, I had the same issue with an item I sold a while ago on eBay. After three weeks, I told the seller he needed to provide a shipping address or the item would go back on auction. (He paid by personal check with no address printed on it-- I wanted to make sure it cleared.)

Good luck!

Call them (ebay should have their number)
Or just refund their money and sell it again?

How about sending it to the return addy on the envelope. I just would try anything to get rid of the funky karma.

Hmmm... If I were you, I'd put it aside and simply email them once a week asking for their shipping address. Eventually, you'll get a response.

Any number of things could be happening. They could be very ill, or have a family member that is.

Possibility that they were using a stolen paypal account to buy the thing in the first place? Maybe that's why they disappeared.... I would just refund his money via paypal and sell it again. If he really wants it, he should get his act together.

i would wait. you've got the money, so you're not out anything... i'd bet you hear from him eventually. if you refund the money, you're out the listing fee, you have to relist, and you have to go through the 1273 step process of gettting your final value fee back from ebay... avoid that if you can.

maybe email paypal, explain, and ask if that account got reported stolen recently? if they say it's clear, it's probably fine, and i would just wait a bit more.

Personally, I say send it to me. My birthday is tomorrow and I was thinking of asking for one but didn't...
