true. true.

A woman has a close male friend. This means that he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much. She sees him strictly as a friend. This always starts out with, you're a great guy, but I don't like you in that way. This is roughly the equivalent for the guy of going to a job interview and the company saying, You have a great resume, you have all the qualifications we are looking for, but we're not going to hire you. We will, however, use your resume as the basis for comparison for all other applicants. But, we're going to hire somebody who is far less qualified and is probably an alcoholic. And if he doesn't work out, we'll hire somebody else, but still not you. In fact, we will never hire you. But we will call you from time to time to complain about the person that we hired.

Nah, I like Chris Rock's theory. The woman knows that the guy is going to hang around which makes him a great back-up position. When she starts getting old and can no longer get better looking guys and is looking to settle down, that's when she starts looking at him.

bah... guys do the same thing, ya bitter bastids. if you can't figure out how to like a woman for who she is, who likes you back for who you are, you have no bidness complaining your own damn fault for chasing what's on the outside instead of what's on the inside.

I won't lie, I'm an intellectual whore with some girls right now. That said, I'm fully aware of it, and not putting myself through any sort of emotional hell over, since I have other girls that are "higher on the ladder." I don't mind being an intellectual whore for one girl if I get to non-intellectually stimulate another at the same time.

Plus I get to use one of my favorite lines often. When a girl says, "I want to be with a smart/funny/sensitive guy blah blah" I always respond, "well now you're on the right track, but you're on the wrong train."

I'd like to try that. Someone has to be the life of the party. Something has to drown out the slurping noises, better me pontificating on whatever than heinous 70's porn groove music.

I can assure you my random thoughts are much more entertaining and far less annoying than Andy Rooney's, and he is a professional thought sayer.

That's what you get for waiting a little too long. You want them desperate enough to settle down to pick you but not desperate enough to pick just anybody.
