There is a difference between sweat, stink and just plain old funk..
it is possible to sweat, yet still not smell bad at the same time. But once you start hittin the stink level on the smello-meter, it's time to take a shower.

I agree with Obby. A fine layer of sweat is very visbly appealing and yeah, in close quarters if you have been dancing or working out with a memeber of the opposite sex, i find it smells decently nice. Not to mention it allows for me to ask if they want to shower.

the funk isn't from the sweat though, it's from the bidness on your skin, as cheapie said. if you smell good, sweat all you want. when you are funky, go take a shower. if you don't I'll hose you down in the driveway.

I never thought about it. I don't go to the gym to smell others or socialize. Just get off the machine after you use it, dont use it as a park bench.

The smell of sweat normally isn't too bad. But I get irritated when guys are at the gym and think that's license to not their wash clothes after each workout. Its sad to think there are people out there that don't care how miserable they make it to share the same airspace as them.

seriously. and for pete's sake, wipe down the machines. that is my pet peeve at the gym.

gwilks98, sounds like you need to find a new gym. everyone at my gym has no problem washing their clothes. but there is one lady who wears this nasty vanilla perfume. it makes me nausious so I have to move whenever she is near me.
