being asked first is very chivalrous, and makes me feel like a lady.
altho, being taken by surprise can be very exhilarating.
and kisses are welcome anywhere on the body. i guess the lips are always a good place to start.

that being said, i kissed a guy a few months ago who didn't know it was coming and the look on his face was PRICELESS! he didn't even kiss me back because he was so shocked. the second kiss was much better.

I hate it when people ask, it freaks me out. Anytime anyone asks me, the answer is ALWAYS no. I think that asking is lame because I think that asking someone is showing them some level of insecurity. I don't need an insecure guy, I need a secure guy who can put himself out there even with the risk that he might be shot down.

heehee, my favorite (there has only been one real first for me) is when it just sorta happens, because both of you are in the same spot, feeling the same thing and no questions are needed.

if you just go for it and she is not feeling it, doesn't it make it really awkward and lame? i think that is why people ask. getting kissed by surprise is way cool even if you're engaged to the person. my fiancee woke me up with a kiss on the lips the other day and it was awesome. no, she didn't ask first.

just doing it can be pretty awkward if i'm not digging them back, and can lead to a hasty departure. recently i asked a guy what was wrong and he said, "i don't know, i just really want to kiss you right now." it was really sweet, even though i didn't kiss him.

As an expert kisser I'd say don't explicitly ask. You can either look for signs: Big eyes, the head tilt, licking lips, hair play...etc or you can tell her seductively that you really want to kiss her or that you are dying to know how her lips feel or something to that effect as you lean 1/3 of the way. Also note that there should be a good time between when you lean in really close so she knows the kiss is coming and the gentle kiss hits.

I don't like being asked, I think it's just weird. I'd much rather be surprised, that makes it all the better. And I personally like to be kissed on the lips, then the neck. I think that's the best place to be kissed, very sensual. The cheek is somewhere you kiss your Grandmother, not a girl you're trying to get with. So if someone kisses my cheek, it totally turns me off.

i always think it's really sweet when they ask first. though, one time i got asked, and then the guy didn't, and that was totally nervewracking, cuz i was on edge waiting for him to do SOMETHING!. but i also think that there's moments where you don't say a word, and the kiss just happens, and that's really magical. a first kiss that's romantic should be on the lips, imho. if you do it on the top of the head or cheek, that's just showing affection that's usually for a small child. and if it's a first kiss, it's far too early to be kissing neck or below, which is initiating more then kissing!

but if he would've just done it, chances are i wouldn't have been too keen on even being around him. he says he knows we're friends and respects my boundaries. i did kiss him on the cheek and he didn't seem too grandma'd out. more like awwww shucks (he's from the south )
