Mach3 Power

In the 10 years I have been shaving, i have always used Gillete Gel, and Mach3s. (Never tried Electric) I definatley found the Mach3 Turbo Blades far superior, to the regular ones.

Now they have this Power gadget, seems all the rage in touthbrushes, why not for razors... Next thing you know, they will put batteries in vibrators, oh wait.

Anyway, does anyone like this power shave better? Is it really better? Or is this just a revenue game, every 3 years require a new razor. Now I have 3 Mach3 handles... DO I REALLY NEED ANOTHER?!

Arent the blades bloody expensive enough?

i read about it in the Los Angeles Times a few weeks ago. according to the article, it does give a closer shave, but it seems just like any other razor, but it vibrates.

eh.

i wax.

I use one. I like it alot. It cuts through a bit easier and it's much easier to rinse. I don't know if it cuts closer but I like mine alot.

I've had mine for almost a year. Haven't had to change the batteries yet. It either works well, or I'm knee deep in the placebo effect. Either way I'm happy.

i got tired of buying razors. They're crazy expensive and last all of 5 min. So i switched to electric. Its no where near as close as a razor, and cant get anything off my neck, but its nice not having to buy razors.

So I got my roomate to let me use his handle, but I only have M3 Turbo blades... It did seem to cut thru and rinse faster, but doesnt feel any closer?

Do i need Power M3 blades? I almost agree hapoo, but i have never used electric, and I love dishing out 20 bucks every few months... haha

Uhm not sure but I don't think you do. I think the power blades just match better in color. But who knows maybe they transmit vibrations better

I've used non-M3 blades. I don't really see a difference. I kinda like the vibrating handle. Surprised a certain car company hasn't tried to sue Gillette.

It's becoming hard to find regular Mach 3 blades. They don't carry them at the Costco I shop it, only Mach 3 Turbo blades. I am quite happy with the Mach 3 Turbo blades. I see no reason to have a vibrating blade near my neck...

I've noticed that it's hard to find regular Mach 3 blades, too. And this annoys me, because I don't like the Turbo blades. I bet there's no difference at all, but every time I used a Turbo blade, I'd cut myself. Fool me sixteen times, Mach 3 Turbo, shame on ME!

I like the Mach 3 Power.. Im not sure if its a Closer Shave or not .. But I have realized when I got a week.. or Two Weeks or a Weekend even.. without shaving.. Its MUCH easier to shave when the time comes that I have to go back to my daily military Life..

So.. I'd suggest it if you have times when you have a lot of hair to cut.. But not too sure about if its really "Closer" or not .. but works great for me.

i totally agree with you on this one and I think Gillette is treating us like crack whores. they get us hooked with a little taste, and now we'll pay the higher price for the Turbos. i'm sure they discontinued the regular Mach 3 blades because they knew we would behave like good little crack whores coming back for some more smack.

It's the pretty standard "razor and blade" model of business . . . They come out with regular product improvements that allow them to charge higher and higher prices for the newest generation of product. Meanwhile, to get people to pony up to the higher margin new blades, they quietly discontinue older generations of blades . . . and even for the more recent (but still not new) blades, they slowly raise the prices so that there is less and less of a difference between the old version and the new version - leading people to upgrade to the newer version . . .

Yep . . . your Mach 3 Turbo blades are now probably more expensive than they were when they first came out . . . they're pushing you to upgrade.

Bitches. I would grow a thick ass beard if my wife wouldn't object. Unfortunately the more I shave the more sex I get...

They seem to work better for me, and my freakish beard grows like a thicket. Hair everwhere except where I want it to me.

Look away....I'm hideous!!!

My local Target still sells regular Mach 3 blades and they are about a buck cheaper than the Turbo ones.

the last time i bought blades i ordered about 100 of 'em for $50 off ebay. they were brand new, still in package. i've got a few boxes left, and then i'll do the same again.

tell you what though. . .i hate the dayum turbo blade. i like the regurl mach 3. the turbo gets too clogged with hair. espicially if i don't shave for a day, which i frequently do on sunday.

You probably have fairly thick facial hair though. I shave, on average, once a week. And while I prefer the regular version, the turbo still held up nicely. One thing I did notice about the Turbo blades was that they seem to run out quicker than the regular versions. I can usually get 5 or 6 shave-days out of a razor, the turbos only seemed to last about half that.
Maybe it was just me

I bought a 4-pack of regular Mach 3 blades last month, and I still haven't switched to the second blade yet.

I mix it up between a razor and an electric. I need to get new blades in the electric. It's not as close but it gets the job done if I'm in a hurry. I use a Mach3 and shave in the shower. Dunno if anyone else does that.

I was using a schick quattro for a while there, but I'm going back to my Mach 3 and hopefully getting a powered one (have to fork over the cash) The heads on the quattro just clogged up something fierce and that just didn't jive. The only reason I used the schick is because it was free.

If anyone is in the orange county, you can get all Mach 3 blades for a buch each at the Orange county marketplace in Costa Mesa. They have 8pks for $7.99. I usually stock up there since it is much cheaper than costco.

i never thought about that. I'll pick up some off eBay next time. I just took a quick look and I don't think they can be had for that price anymore. at least, not easily.

Am I the only one who still uses the straight razor? People think I am crazy when I bring it up. S.R., badger hair brush, all good stuff. I have a Mach 3 for back up when I am in a hurry, but man nothing beats that edge..

IMO I think all mens razors suck. Electric or regular. I have yet to find a man who can pass my inspection after shaving. I always find hair left on the neck and the fleshy part of the cheek. So I really don't think it matters.
