Recipe: Hearty Ground Beef Stew

Scott & I made this for the first time for dinner tonight. SOOO good.

1 pound ground beef (the leaner, the better of course.)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 package (16oz) Italian-style frozen veggies
2 cups southern style hash brown potatoes
1 jar (14oz) marinara sauce
1 can (10 1/2oz) condensed beef broth
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Brown ground beef & garlic in large saucepan. drain. Add remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling. Cover. Reduce heat to medium low. Cook 10 minutes or until veggies are crisp-tender.

We served it with some salad and garlic cheese bread and it was delish!

That sounds great. Thanks for sharing. It never hurts to have a new tried and true recipe. Try this one. The cake is wonderful but I have not made it yet. (I am not an apple cake fan, but the family L-O-V-E-S this one):

Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce

Stir these together:
4 cups peeled, sliced apples
2 cups sugar

Mix:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
--Add to apple mixture.

Beat together:
2 eggs
3/4 cup oil
2 TBSP of vanilla
--Add this to apple/flour mixture

Stir in 1 cup chopped pecans and pour into a greased 9x13 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until it springs back.

Caramel Sauce

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup cream
2 tsp vanilla

Place all of this in a saucepan and boil over medium heat, cooking for 3
minutes while stirring. (it is really important that it boil for 3 minutes
so it thickens and doesn't separate as it cools). Serve warm or cold over
the cake.
