What are your favorite's @ Trader Joe's?
They just opened one in my area. I went for the 1st time today and bought some of their soup, some McCann's oatmeal and Glaceau vitamin water... I was thinking I should have bought some bread too.
Next time I go, I'd like to have more in my cart to try out. What are your favorites from Trader Joe's?

Mandarin Orange Chicken (frozen)
Their frozen sweet corn is also great. I like their Lemon Grass Chicken frozen lunch bowl thing. I'm sure there's lots of other things I'll remember when I get home.

Sun dried tomato sprinkles (great for pasta or potatoes), basalmic vinegar, perogies (try them with tomato sprinkles, basalmic vinegar and olive oil on them).

i've always been very pleased with their frozen foods (pot stickers, burritos, quiche, etc), and trust me, i'm NOT a frozen food person - you can ask cornmonkey.
also, i particularly like their Matterhorn Trail Mix (is that what it's called? the one with the white chocolate chips and dried cherries and such?) and their chocolate covered soy beans (MMMMM).

Wow, where to start... LOVE TJ's and buy all sorts of stuff there. I had to check out the NE Fearless Flyer to see if they carry the same products in the East that they carry in the West. Pretty close to being the same.
Their extensive selection of yummy cheeses is great. We get their freshly grated Parm-Reg, grated Romano, and their crumbled Gorgonzola. The Brie en Croute is great. Their house brand string cheese is amazing. Once you have it, you'll never go back to the nasty stuff from the grocery store. They have a yummy goat cheese assortment as well (Montchevre Chevre). You could spend a lot of time and money in their cheese case. Tangerine Juice - Either fresh or pasteurized. Both are great and an interesting change of pace from orange juice. Trader Giotto Pasta Sauces - A wide assortment of delicious sauces. Their four cheese blend is quite tasty. Their nut/chip/snack aisle is filled with great stuff. They have a number of specialized fruit/nut mixes that put regular trail mix to shame. They just started carrying candied pecans. Grandpa can't stop eating those! We get their cheese sticks and pita chips too. Cereals - Both hot and cold. Their complete oatmeal has added soy protein and low sugar. Great for low carb diets. They have a killer price on Kashi cold cereals, and a variety of Joe O's too. Baking Supplies - Excellent Madagascar vanilla in both paste and liquid, and an almond meal that can be substituted for 50% of flour in recipes. They carry rice flour too. Great selection of spices and herbs for baking. Their heavy cream is 40% butterfat, so it gives a creaminess to recipes that is hard to match. Finally, their fresh pie crusts are a great time saver to just fill and bake quickly. Wines - From all around the world. Can't beat the Two Buck Chuck for cooking wine. It's good enough to drink, though I typically buy some of their pricier wines for that. TJ's price on Mad Dogs and Englishmen red was better than Costco's on my last trip. Lots of varietals in all price ranges. Haven't had a bad bottle from them yet. Produce/Salads: We get lots of fresh veggies from TJs. Zucchini, asparagus, artichokes, tomatoes, romaine hearts, mushrooms, apples, oranges, and bananas are regular purchases. I love their pre-made salads. The Italian Chopped and Chinese Chicken are two of my favorites. No, I don't work for TJ's, I'm just a fan of their stores. They offer a wide selection of quality products at fantastic prices. |

I love Trader Joes, but I limit my visits because I always come home with the most random stuff!
I love their selection of breads (we just had the Naan last night), but be careful - no preservatives so it spoils fast. I usually try one of their yummy hummus or dips. They have a great frozen food section (we had chicken breasts stuffed with cranberry almond stuffing last week). They also have a nice selection of jar'ed sauces, especially the Marsala sauce (just add chunks of chicken, and voila!). The sparkling juices are yummy. and oooh, the desserts! They have these little apple thingies in the frozen section that are like individual apple pies. and i usually pick up some of the trailmixes or dried fruit for munchies at work. If you feel like trying fake meat, they have some pretty good veggie stuff too. Yeah, Trader Joes has some good stuff!

And, to add a few other TJ favorites: We love one of their barbeque sauces - the one that says something like "slightly sweet with just the right amount of kick" My wife loves their semi-sweet chocolate chips We all love their chocolate truffles |

Get a jar of the Thai green curry sauce, and a package of paneer cheese.
Lightly sautee the paneer, then dump it into a pot. Sautee a chicken breast or two then dump it into the same pot. Add a package of frozen vegatables, and dump the curry sauce over it. Let it simmer for about an hour, or until it smells so good that you just can't stand it. Then eat. ![]() We had a friend begging us for the recipe the last time we made this. We eventually gave in and told him that it was all basically Trader Joe's...

Jeepers! Just spent $129 at TJ's last night on a "stock up" trip.
We got several new things: The TJ's Figs & Feta salad. TJ's fresh pie crusts TJ's fresh apple pie filling TJ's organic pumpkin TJ's organic grape juice. Can't wait to try this stuff out. Gotta love their selection of fresh and organic items! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Had the Figs & Feta salad today for lunch...yummo! Last edited by kgsilvas : 12-09-2005 at 05:00 PM.
