I've worn the same leather jacket for 13 years. This past Christmas my wife bought me a new one, one that I have yet to wear around because it's not treated (that I know of)
So my questions are these: 1. Do modern leather jackets still need to be treated? 2. How much should I expect to pay for a size 42 Wilson jacket? TIA

You should check with the Wilsons to see if it has already been treated. Mine was when I got it about 2 1/2 years ago.

most leather i have purchaced from wilsons was untreated, leather sealants are chemical or animal product based, you should be able to smell it. they sell a can of leather treating spray for about 15 bucks at wilsons, its basicly scotch guard. Unless the jacket is suede leather, I prefer using mink oil, its a bit cheaper, one can of it can coat several jackets. its alot of elbow grease coating all the seams and surfaces. but when the jacket gets older you can easily recoat it and it will look like a new jacket agian.

I have a rather new suede jacket. Do I need to treat it?

I think most suede is pre treated, treating suede usually darkens the color a bit, if you notice that its absorbing water instead of beading, or if the seam's absorb water. I would seal it.
