Curious as to what everyone will be doing for valentine's day.

Wifey's birthday is on the 11th, so we'll probably double dip and go out on the 11th or 12th.

V-Day isn't a big holiday for us. I guess it's because of the close proximity of her birthday.

We have some leftover gc money from Scott's Xmas bonus so going to go out to eat at Willie C's for steak probably. No money so no movies or anything. Will probably watch one at home, tho.

I bought my wife a card and I'll get her flowers, but that's really it. She'd honestly just be happy enough with the card, but I always get her some flowers too. We're planning on going out that following Saturday since everyone will be out, going to the movies/making dinner reservations etc. on the day itself, so, we celebrate it when there's less people out and we can get a seat without waiting 2 hours.

Probably go to O'Charley's...man they've got some really good food.

My new sweetie invited me to spend the afternoon with him today. He lit the room with candles, had a margarita ready for me, and gave me a massage.

I'll go ahead and reveal the details of my V-day scheme:

My new girlfriend is a teacher, and since I used to work with at-risk kids, I know some students of hers. I chose 3 of them to be my delivery boys (she only has to teach 3 classes today):

At the start of the day (in fact, about 20 minutes ago), one of the boys is bringing her flowers. Attached is a note that says, "Sorry, I'm usually more creative than this, but Happy Valentine's Day!"

Before her next class starts, another boy will be bringing her a gift bag filled with various cute little crap that she wanted and things for her upcoming vacation (which I'm invited to). The card says, "For example, I'd normally buy you things that you'd mentioned you wanted, or get you things that make you smile- like things that make you think about your vacation."

Finally, her last class of the day is her worst class. She constantly complains that they're a pain in the ass and won't shut up. I subtly got some of their names from her, and told some of the more thuggish kids I knew that they should "kindly instruct" some of those kids that they were to sit down and shut the f*ck up today in class. One of my thugs will be delivering her a note (and I instructed him to give her class a "warning stare" as he entered her class). The note will say, "Actually, what would definitely put a smile on your face is ending the toughest part of your day with no headache. Today (and today only, sorry), you'll be teaching your calmest, quietest class."

I will hear no comments that gift #3 is ethically shady. Even my thug boys liked the idea, and I told them there is not to be any actual violence.

Oh, they did. I got the update from them yesterday after they got out of school. She asked one of them how he knew me, and he just said, "He's a good guy. I'm just helpin my boy out."

As for the keeping her kids calm, she said it worked for the most part, and that when one of them got out of his seat and started talking all loud, everyone else started looking at him with a scared look. Then the kid saw their faces, shut his mouth and sat back down.
