PillowCase Dress

Hi all sorry I have been absent for so long, but I have been very busy. I wanted to show some of you my newest creation. I made my Daughter Gabby a really cool dress from a pillowcase. So tell me what you think of it.

For more Pics you can go HERE

Feel free to look at any of my other projects as well.

She is such a beautiful little girl. I like the Jedi Kids, don't let Welfareloser see those, she will steal the idea.

The top of the dress looks nice but with the bottom of it, you can tell that it was made from a pillow case. You really can't ruffle it horizontally the way you did with the top because it'll make it harder for her to walk but maybe you could ruffle it vertically or put some lace or other fabric (if you're worried that she would destroy the lace... maybe what you used for the straps) to make it look cuter. Overall though, really good job. Did you do that by hand or machine?

woa..
I think it looks nice and comfortable for her just the way it is..it reminds me of the old cotton "sack" dresses we wore to sleep in as kids on those hot hot august nights..Was the pillow case made out of cotton? or a poly cotton blend? she looks cute as a button.

that's adorable!!! she's tall for her age, isn't she? (hint: it's okay to say no. my frame of reference is my household, which my 6'4 friend scaryninja refers to as the "halfling village" ... my husband's 5'7, i'm 5'2, and all our kids are short, too... we had high hopes for eg, who spent his first two years in the 90th percentile in height, but he's fading fast... )

She is actually very tall for her age. But very slender. The pants that fit her lengthwise need to be pinned together in the back to keep them from falling down!

I need to get some pictures up of it after it was washed and dryed. It looks different without the crease.

I made it by machine. The straps are a pain as I used a lace and a ribbon that I stiched together.

it was 100% Cotton. I thought that would be the most comfortable for hot summer days.

the last time she was measured she was 75% So I guess yes she is tall for her age.

no way, the fact that it was a pillow case is cool.
