Hi Hi Win a few games, get laid

Gotta love those Ukranians...they know the meaning of "incentive"

MOSCOW - Ukraine’s players have been promised quality time with their wives if they reach the World Cup semi-finals.

Asked if he would allow his players to have sex with their wives and girlfriends during the month-long tournament, Ukraine coach Oleg Blokhin said: “I would personally send my players to see their wives if we reach the (World Cup) semis.

“Those who don’t feel like it, I’ll just drag to their wives. Take my word for it,” Blokhin told Russian daily Sport-Express on Tuesday.

Ukraine, playing in their first World Cup finals, have been drawn in Group H along with Spain, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.

The World Cup kicks off on June 9.

i wonder it they are required to not have sex at all during this time due to it draining some of their stamina, and if they make it to the World Cup semi-finals then the dangling carrot can be released to help moral.

    just a thought.

I'm not aware of how the Ukraine handles things, but the US players have been training since the beginning of May and have been away from their families for the duration. Now they will head back and spend a few days with their families before leaving for Germany.

The US will bring along their families to the World Cup but this is not a normal occurence. Most countries do not allow the families of their players to travel with them to the World Cup.

Chances are likely that the Ukraine won't make the round of 16 and will be seeing their families around June 20.
It only ends once... Anything that happens before that is just progress.

Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.

The US had their families with them in 2002 but didn't in 98. I was listening to one of the warm up games the US had and I believe Balboa was talking about it. He said the players were miserable in 98 caused they missed their families and so forth. He also went on about how nice it is to be with your family while you are away for the world cup.

I can see that. It's more than just sex, I'm sure.

I was watching the same game and heard the same comments. It makes sense but I can understand there is a fine line between it being nice and it being a distraction.

They studied this on the show Brainiac on G4 when they had two teams playing soccer, one of which got laid during halftime. Needless to say, the "lucky" team came back like a bunch of zombies (ie no energy afterwards) and lost the game (big surprise there).
