This talk about He-Man (OK, specifically my talk) got me to thinking: I know I had a lot of He-Man action figures, but I wonder how many I actually had...
Bust on over to He-Man.org. It turns out, out of 122 possible action toys (action figures, vehicles, playsets, and even the wacky accessories) I had 61. If you remove the European versions, that's almost 52%. If you take out the really retarded ones that came in 1986 or later (basically when the whole thing became really wack with lame characters, etc.) I had over 83%!!
Now, I remember those things were pretty pricey, and given that some were more expensive than others (i.e., Ccastle Grayskull probably cost a pretty penny!) I probably had a small fortune in He-Men just sitting in a drawer for years. And to think I sold them all off in a garage sale years ago!! Jeez! Those things must be worth a mint today!! Oh, the agony, the humanity of it all!!!

    Missing characters from pre-1986:
    Faker
    King Randor
    Mantenna
    Modulok
    Prince Adam
    Rokkon
    Sy-Klone

    Missing Vehicles from pre-1986:
    Battle Bones
    Land Shark
    Night Stalker
    Point Dread and Talon Fighter
    Weapons Pack

(just included as a testament to my mania and lack of work to do today!)

I'm sitting on a ton of Star Wars, GI Joe and He Man figures and vehicles stuck in an attic in the middle of Indiana . . . I don't even know what I have anymore, but I know it's a bunch. I think I might still have the Castle Greyskull . . . (Although, my mom DID sell off my Millennium Falcon and I think one of those AT-AT suckers) . . . Maybe I need to have all that crap shipped back to NYC and think about selling some of it.

Well, I never had cool toys like the Star Wars action figures or the He-Man or GI-Joe... But I did have some of the GoBots (if anyone else remembers those Transformer wannabes) and the entire collection of Smurfs actions figures... =P

I wonder how they came up with the name "He-Man". They must have rejected "She-Man" or "He-Girl" before they came up with "He-Man". When he was a kid did they call him "He-Boy"?. I bet "She-Woman" came up in the brainstorming meetings before "She-ra".
